South Korea released risk assessment results of bisphenol, p-hydroxybenzoate, phthalate, etc

Food partner online news On April 9, South Korea's Ministry of food and drug safety (MFDs) said: the Korea food and drug safety assessment institute has identified three bisphenol (BPA, BPF, BPS), four p-hydroxybenzoates (methyl hydroxybenzoate, ethyl hydroxybenzoate, propyl p-hydroxybenzoate, butyl p-hydroxybenzoate) and seven phthalates (DEHP, DBP, BBP, etc.) exposed to human body through various ways in daily life The comprehensive risk assessment of 14 chemicals including DEP, DnOP, DIDP, DINP) was carried out. The results showed that the total exposure of Korean people did not reach the level of harming human health.

 

  Fourteen chemicals, including bisphenol used as raw material of coating agent for can interior, phthalate ester used as plastic plasticizer, p-hydroxybenzoate ester used as preservative for food and cosmetics, were selected as the evaluation objects.

 

  The results of total human exposure in all age groups showed that: 3 kinds of bisphenol were 0.01 ~ 0.05 ㎍ / kg bw / day, 7 kinds of phthalates were 14.23 ~ 27.23 ㎍ / kg bw / day, and 4 kinds of p-hydroxybenzoates were 11.7 ~ 23.2 ㎍ / kg bw / day.

 

 Compared with the human exposure safety standard, the total exposure amount was 0.05 ~ 0.25% for bisphenol, 2.3 ~ 8.5% for phthalates, and 0.12 ~ 0.23% for p-hydroxybenzoates.
